To get your initial £20 shopping voucher after your first month on the panel, follow these steps to install the MediaCell+ app on your Android.
Please note, that to be eligible for the initial £20 voucher, you will also need to install the inCompass app on any PCs, Laptops and Tablets you own.
IMPORTANT: The below instructions may vary dependent on the type of Android phone you have e.g. steps might occur in a different order or screens may look slightly different. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Follow these steps to install the app on your Android smartphone: www.incompass.me.uk/android
NOTE: The download link will work on any internet browser on your phone.
You may get a message asking you if you want to download / keep the MediaCell+ app.
Select ‘OK’. The app will now start downloading.
Once the MediaCell+ App has finished downloading, you will find it in your Notifications (you can access this by pulling down the top of your Android screen). Select the MediaCell+ notification.
If you do not have ‘Unknown sources’ selected in your phone settings, you may be taken to the screen as shown below in order to allow you to install our application.
IMPORTANT: Unknown sources needs to be selected because the app we use is private and not available via the Google Play store. We can assure you that the Ipsos MORI MediaCell+ app can be trusted. This won’t allow unauthorised software to be used on your device, it will only give permission for the MediaCell+ app.
You will be taken to a screen asking you to install the app.
You may need to press ‘NEXT’ a few times before pressing ‘INSTALL’
Once Installed press ‘OPEN’ (if you press ‘DONE’ by accident, go to your home screen and click on the MediaCell+ icon).
If you haven’t already, open the MediaCell+ App. You may be shown the following messages (the number and order may vary).
Select ALLOW/OK for each notification.
No data will be collected or sent on/from your device until the terms and conditions prompt has been accepted
Information regarding permissions:
You should now have the MediaCell+ app open.
Select ‘Click here to Register’ located at the bottom of the screen. Select ‘Continue’ if it asks you to send a text message to complete the registration.
You will be automatically redirected to your Messages app to send the text.
Press the ‘Send’ button.
(This text is sent to us at Ipsos MORI to register your app - the long string of numbers/letters enables us to identify your phone so that we can register it – please don’t change the content of the text!)
Once we have received the text message we will register your phone, this can take up to 1 hour to complete.

Please turn your phone completely off, then on again and tap the MediaCell+ app.
It should show a message saying ‘MediaCell+ is installed’ and you’ll now see a combination of letters/numbers at the bottom which confirms that your phone is registered.
You will be asked for permission to set up the VPN (the VPN is required to understand which apps and websites you use). Note: depending on your phone, this stage may occur earlier in the installation process. Select ‘OK’
Then find the VPN notification in your notifications drawer > select ‘OK’. (Please don’t change the certificate name).
Note: If you don’t have a lock screen PIN on your smartphone, you may be prompted to add one. Select ‘OK’ and create a pin if you have not done so already (see step 10.2 with images below).

A prompt to enable ‘Accessibility’ may also appear.
Select ‘OK’ > Select ‘MediaCell+’ > Select ‘ON/YES’ or you may need to toggle the tab
You will see a pop-up appear asking you if you would like to use MediaCell+. Please tap on ‘OK’. The toggle will then switch to green.
Once the app is running successfully you will get notifications saying ‘Network may be monitored by an unknown 3rd party’; and one or two notifications titled ‘Ipsos MediaCell+’.
You should also see a ‘VPN’ key sign at the top. This looks like a key.
Note: the VPN sign may not appear all the time, for example if you have lost wifi/network connection. Once you reconnect, the VPN sign will reappear.
The MediaCell+ App should now be running in the background. The app can now detect what you watch on TV, what radio you listen to, and the apps/websites used on your phone. You will know if it is running if you have the ‘Network may be monitored’ and ‘MediaCell+’ notifications and VPN ‘key’ at the top.
To be eligible for your further £10 voucher every month, all you now need to do is ensure that the MediaCell+ app is running at all times, and remember:
Also, please keep your Power Saving / Battery Saver mode turned off. If turned on the app will not run correctly and we will receive only partial data from you.
This can be done in Settings > Applications > MediaCell+ > Battery > Battery Optimization
Ensure that battery saving is turned OFF and battery usage for MediaCell+ is set to “Not Optimized”.
Apart from that, please watch TV, listen to the radio and use your phone as much or as little as you normally would!
NOTE: Online Vouchers will be emailed to you during the first week of each new calendar month in payment for the full previous calendar month.
